CONSTRUCTION TIPS
FIRST DETERMINE WHAT YOU WANT TO BUILD -
THEN ORDER AS COMPLETE A CHASSIS AS YOUR BUDGET WILL ALLOW (AND
IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY). THEN.....
- When you receive your chassis - assemble and install some
"ROLLER" tires and wheels. These tires and wheels
should be as close in size and offset as you plan to use on
your vehicle when finished.
- Mount as many components as you have. As you get
additional components, mount each.
- run your fuel lines. Mount your trans cooler and run those
lines.
- Check component fit as you go - areas to continually
check:
- Radiator to fan
- Fire wall to engine (with
distributor, carb, etc., installed)
- Floor to transmission
- Fender clearance
- Exhaust route
- Anything and everything as you
go.
- Check tire, wheel, size and offset. This should be
checked with body and fenders mounted.
- Do not paint or powder coat your frame until every
possible component has been fitted and installed.
After you are sure every part fits and the body lines up -
then disassemble and paint or powder coat.
- On final assembly , apply quality white grease to all
threads.
